Kris Allen was born and raised in sunny Southern California. As a credentialed primary school teacher, she loves to write whimsical stories that include an informative element whether it be based in science, history, or arts and crafts. Most of the stories Kris writes are in rhyme because rhyming picture books are her absolute favorite stories to read aloud.

Today Kris lives with her husband, children, and two snuggly basset hounds in a cozy cottage-style neighborhood in the very same town where she grew up.  She no longer teaches but loves being home where she has time to grow in her faith, write stories, and create fanciful worlds from her imagination.

Fun fact: Kris wrote her very first story in third grade titled, “The Puppy from Outer Space”.  Although that story never made it to publication, the puppy she illustrated all those years ago now lives on as the knit dog in her diorama illustrations.
